Nicci discovered her entrepreneurial spirit at an early age. She was very creative in finding ways to make money. Her cash-creating ventures included gathering phone books from neighbors to sell to a recycling station, selling popsicles that were made from the juice of her grandma's grapes, as well as designing clothes for Barbie dolls and then selling them to friends and neighbors.

Nicci has been an artist for many years. Fiber art is her main focus and silk painting is the form it takes most often. Working in stained glass, watercolor and writing poetry are her other passions. Silk painting combines some of her favorite aspects of each.

Nicci's road to entrepreneurship has been varied. After a five year stint as an electrician in industrial, commercial and residential settings, she expanded her focus by working in the property management field as a construction-rehab supervisor and later as a general manager of a real estate management company.

She then moved to Dallas, Texas where she met and married her husband, Michael. Within a couple of years, her entrepreneurial spirit emerged again and she decided to start a custom interior design company. The company was built around creating custom treatments that had limitless possibilities. All treatments were made in her own workroom, or on-site at the client's home or office. She developed a clientele of apartment management companies that needed an office make-over, as well as gift baskets for new residents.

Due to the demand, a gift basket division was born. Within a few months, she was shipping 150 baskets across the country and delivering 150 around the Dallas-Fort Worth area every week. She sold that business and devoted her full energy to interior design.

In 1992, Nicci started working with retailers across the country. As an independent consultant, she did what she does best-help people clarify their goals, create a strategy for achieving the outcome that they want or need, and then manage the whole process to completion. Nicci is a Peer Advisor for the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts, and a member of Women's Business Center, NH Stories, Inc. and The League of NH Craftsmen.

After five years as a "consulting gypsy", she decided to settle in New Hampshire and is the co-owner of Business Building Techniques and Dilemma Management Consulting. Throughout her entrepreneurial experience, Nicci and Michael conducted seminars for property management companies, organizations, retailers that attended markets at the Dallas World Trade Center and to the general public. They advertised through the media and private channels to conduct workshops, teach seminars, and present keynote speeches. The value of their knowledge and experience makes them sought after by organizations around the country.

In addition to the many workshops and seminars they offer, their book, Your Business Building Companion, is a culmination of their many years of consulting, writing, speaking, and helping people achieve their goals and dreams.

Most business plan books fall short of fully explaining the financials of a business as a part of the overall concept, and how all of the elements form the foundation that must be built to support it. However, Your Business Building Companion and the accompanying workbook explain the depth of the process of thinking like a business owner and planning your path to the goals that you envision. Together these tools empower business owners to make success a reality in their heart and mind, as well as in their business.
